Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has heaped praise on Liverpool signing Thiago Alcantara ahead of two matches between the teams in the space of four days.

The Gunners, who have won each of their three matches in all competitions this season, face the Premier League champions at Anfield on Monday, before an EFL Cup tie at the same venue on Thursday.

Arsenal are planning to announce the signing of Albert Sambi Lokonga from Anderlecht today, according to . It has been reported that Lokonga is in London already ahead of his transfer from Belgian club Anderlecht to Premier League outfit Arsenal. The 21-year-old midfielder has also completed his medical.

Lokonga has been at Anderlecht since 2014 and has come through the ranks at the Belgian club to establish himself in the first team. The Anderlecht no. 48 made  in the Jupiler Pro League last season, scoring three goals and giving two assists in the process. The youngster also played four times in the Belgian Cup in 2020-21.

Lacazette, 31, was presented as a Lyon player on Thursday after the club confirmed he is re-joining from Arsenal when his Gunners contract expires at the end of June.

The France striker spent five years in north London after leaving Lyon in 2017 in a deal the Ligue 1 club claim was worth €60million (£51.3m).

Corentin Tolisso has returned to Lyon on a five-year deal after leaving Bayern Munich.

The 27-year-old midfielder left Lyon to join Bayern for a fee of €41.5million in 2017 and experienced five successful years with the Bavarian giants.

Tolisso won five Bundesliga titles, lifted the Champions League in 2021 and the DFB-Pokal twice.
